Megan WelshOn March 7th, our class was visited by Megan Welsh, Soles4Souls' Independent Development Specialist. She spoke to us about the role she plays in the nonprofit, was very interactive, and explained lots of information about Soles4Souls through videos. She provided us with insight on struggles in underdeveloped countries and how Soles4Souls is geared towards improving life through small community efforts.

Marissa PellegrinoOn March 13th, our class was visited by Marissa Pellegrino, the Digital Marketing & Social Media Manager for Soles4Souls. She gave the class amazing advice about how to create good content, social mediaplatforms, and website. She taught us that it takes more work than what people think. Because of her help, we, as a class, are now more educated on the ins and outs of managing a website.

Dr. Oluchi Randolph
Professor Randolph of Vanderbilt and Fisk University came to speak to our class on February 27th. She spoke to us about how refugees form new identities in new places, which was the topic of her dissertation. She taught us about the different factors that help form one's identity. From her, we learned that one person can't fit perfectly into just one category. As a class, we took her teachings and applied it to refugees. The public views refugees as just that, refugees. When in reality, they're so much more like: parents, children, workers, leaders, helpers, healers, and more.
